This One Is For The Ladies – What would you want from an online magazine?
I have been successfully blogging and marketing in many niches for about 4 years and am looking to turn my hand to something that I can really get my teeth stuck into, and have been toying with the idea of creating a blog for women.
I want to do something different, that you cant get everywhere else, which I appreciate is what anyone wants to do when creating something new… But I want to create something that is more “down to earth’ and real compared to what you find on your regular sites.
A few questions that I have for you ladies are
Do you currently regularly read any online magazines?
If so which sites, and if not, why not?
What topics would most interest you in an online magazine? What do you not find your regular magazines talk enough about?
Beauty? Fashion? Dating? Sex? Celebrity Gossip?
Any thoughts would be GREATLY welcomed.
Thank you ladies!!

Why Bother Social Networking and “Branding” Yourself?
These days, it seems that one has to market themselves as a “brand” in order to make a name for themselves. For some people it’s easy…especially if you’re a celebrity or politician, but for an average person such as myself, not so much. You do what you can to put yourself out there, to promote your talents, promote your products, or even just to connect to people with common interests.
That’s hard to do if you’re considered “unique”.
I’ve tried blogging, Facebook, Twitter, even YouTube, to market myself as an average guy with certain talents and interests. Apparently, the posts have gotten very few responses have been often ignored. Nevertheless, I keep trying, but the results are still the same.
Just so I don’t want all this to make it look like it’s all about me, I do try to be supportive of other people and their interests. I have a friend who has a podcast that I visit every week. Another person recently had a children’s book published and I purchased it to help ensure her success. But trying to get people to purchase a book I’ve put out is like pulling teeth. Tried to obtain funding for said book through Kickstarter, but got rejected. Which is okay..if they had actually explained why.
In the end, I feel that all the effort to brand yourself is not worth the time if after a long while nothing comes out of it. What then is the point?

1 Make a name for oneself, 2, ignored 3, all this is not worth the time 4, pointless.
Tried blogging, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. What I see here is a unique person trying to market himself as and average guy. What is success, to sell a book, to not waste time or to connect with people with common interest. To me I would try to focus, just think about what is it I really want!
I am on YouTUBE and ignored, I have little control over how many watch. (hquillin channel)
I am not on Facebook, Twitter or blogging, I just don’t have time enough for them.. I prefer to be here just for you, almost certain you will read this. I am considered “unique” and I find that my uniqueness becomes less so as people get to know me. I have never tried to sell a book of my own although at one time I sold Encyclopedias, I think I would seek an agent or publish myself depending on what I wanted to accomplish with my writing. Did you know you can be sued?
Be careful of what you say in a blog, I just read that Anna Nicole Smiths mother Virgie is suing a blogger for something she wrote on a public venue like we all do from time to time. No more blogging about the outrageous behavior of celebrities for me.
If you think its a joke, the judge locked the woman up in jail because she wouldn’t give up her computer after it was subpeonaed (sp) the woman claimed it was stolen, so she is sitting in jail as I type this.
Ok, I don’t know about you but they got my attention.
Sorry, but my question was along the lines of “WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS?” How’s that???
Someone asked for the link to the article there it is above.
SERENGETI eat your words, click on the link and read it for yourself. By the way, why would I be on her side, I am just bringing something to you attention that I thought my fellow bloggers might be interested in…lighten up for goodness sake!

People can be touchy, especially people in the public eye. I’m not saying it was right for her to sue anyone(freedom of speech and all that), because famous people will be talked about(especially those who act outrageously….I think it’s what they want),but people should show a little respect, especially to those who have passed on.

Why Do White People hate Black People so Much?
Pick any situation, but the most current one is Michael Jackson. people are blogging that he stole the Beatles music, and are feeling sorry for ‘poor, poor billionaire Paul McCartney.
Why do white people viciously attack successful blacks?
the hypocrisy is clear to me-racism.
another example: OJ Simpson- every white person I know acts like it was their sister.
Anytime a black person is found not guilty in america, white people can never accept that and let the hate show through, like the Klan themselves.
Whites do not get mad when white executives are let off for robbing the country blind, or knowing that serial killers are overwhelming white.
I’m sick of it and am not going to pretend I don’t see it.
There may be literally, a couple, of white people out there who will say, ‘oh i’m not like that, and ‘reverse discrimination’ but the vast majority of white people, i have noticed resent successful blacks.
they won’t say anything when the person is on top, but as soon as that black person messes up, or shows that they’re human, white people jump on them, degrade them, and smear them through the mud in the media, and in their conversations about that person.
Example: Michael Jackson was and is one of the biggest charitable celebrities around; he has done more to raise money for important causes, such as Africa, Heal the World, and various other organizations.
He was accused of child molestation charges and found Not Guilty on all accounts; yet now, that’s all some white people want to remember him as.
To White People: why do you do it? Why is racism ingrained in you so deeply?
i have yet to see or hear a white person acknowledge slavery, their wrongdoing in it AND the effects and repurcussions of on blacks to this day.
any other time when a white person will ask on this site: what don’t u like about blacks-thats when whites have a ready response, but when i ask u to acknowledge ur own racism- i get called a hyprocrite??
well for pple who just like to keep saying, its both, why then do u only see whites blogging and downgrading blacks when they’re mad about something? blacks do not blog and rant and downgrade whites, if yet another white person does something we don’t like. answer that.

What is a good catchy female blog name?
I want to write a blog as i have before in the past. names i used before were “blogging beauty” and “a chic place”. I cant find a good name, all of them are taken which has made my creative mind shut down! The blog is going to be basically for women although I would really like it to cater to all people. The blog will have fashion, music, movies, celebrity, news, and random things. I know all of the genres have in common that its entertainment and media. But I like words like glossy, bliss, glitz, riot, society and of course socialite. I know the outline and the design of the blog i want to do, but the name is hard… I don’t necessarily need them to have the words i like it in the name but it will would be cool. I just want the ultimate catchy name, without having to pay a whole bunch of money for it. Instead ill give you bragging rights on my blog with a feature of your blog =)
@not sure… I like some of those names…made me laugh at one of them. cute thanks so much =)
