Steve Questions And Answers On Blogging For Kids

Steve asks…

Is learning about Twitter and blogging more important than learning world history?

“Children will no longer study the Second World War and Queen Victoria, but instead learn about Twitter and blogging under radical plans to overhaul primary school teaching.”

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1164682/Exit-Winston-Churchill-enter-Twitter—Yes-new-primary-school-curriculum.html

Not sure how much of this I believe, but if true, is it really a step in the right direction?

Oh no, we can’t have our history dying out that easily.
And lets face it kids will learn about blogging etc in their own time as they should.
History is really interesting, my daughter has been encaptured by the WW2 history at school lately, its wrong to remove it from the sylabus.

Helena Questions And Answers On Blogging For Kids

Helena asks…

How can a 13 year old make money off of blogging?

I’m not looking to make a whole lot of money. I don’t have any high expectations, I just figured it’d be nice to do what I love and get a little cash.

Open a lemonade stand. Especially if you’re a kid, a lemonade stand or baked goods stand can bring in good money in one day. If the lemonade isn’t selling, or you want to diversify, sell cookies and brownies as well. The important thing here is to find a good location, like the main entrance to an apartment building, outside a shopping center, on a busy corner near your house, or outside one of your parents’ workplaces (if you’re a kid; otherwise you might get in trouble).

Caroline Questions And Answers On Blogging For Kids

Caroline asks…

I want to help the kids in Africa and do work of that sort. What should I do?

The UN?
Peace Corps?

blogging1 cropped Questions And Answers On Blogging For Kids

excel2domain answers:

You don’t get to join either organization — you apply and hope that your qualifications are enough to be chosen.

Organizations such as UN Volunteers and the PeaceCorps are looking for people who can work (read, write and speak) in a language other than English, who have skills and experience that can lead to local people generating income, better feeding their families, improving children’s health, etc., or that can lead to the transformation of key institutions, such as government, universities/schools or NGOs. They are looking for people who can commit to a two-year assignment and who have experience working with under-served communities. Most volunteers not only have degrees, they also have grad degrees. The average age of a UN Volunteer is 38.

Here is a web site that can help you learn more about the skills and experience desired by long-term volunteer placement organizations (or paid work overseas to help in developing countries, for that matter), and how you can gain that experience locally:

http://www.coyotecommunications.com/volunteer/international.html

Short-term volunteer placement agencies (in contrast to the aforementioned) charge unskilled volunteers a fee, or require these volunteers to pay their own way (flights, in-country transportation, health insurance, accommodation, food, security, translators, training, staff to create the service opportunities and then to supervise and support the volunteers in their service, liaisons with the police and local officials, etc.).

There is a listing of the more-than-30 member organizations of the International Volunteers Program Association (IVPA) that is a good place to find reputable volunteer-for-a-fee programs — programs where you don’t need to have much experience in order to participate, and the placements are just for a few weeks or months:

http://www.volunteerinternational.org/

In the meantime, what can you do to help people in Africa? You can educate yourself at the situation they face (by subscribing to online newsletters by UNICEF, CARE, UNIFEM, UNFPA, OxFAM, etc. And reading these regularly), by building awareness among your friends and family (linking to organizations via your MySpace, FaceBook and other social networking profiles, blogging about the situation there, etc.), and donating or raising funds for organizations working in Africa.

Charlie asks…

I am renting a house from my sister, going on 3 years; last winter the heater broke. This winter it is still?

broken. I am single mom, using space heaters which makes electric bill high and I have to burn my stove burners for additional heat. Well I was blogging about how my kitchen pipes froze and had no water in kitchen. She got offended and angry and now wrote a rebuttal blog stating she wants to sell house. How should I deal with this situation. Yes I know I have to look for another place. But do you think I am wrong or should she had repaired heater or at the very least attempted to do so. How to make money off sports bloggging?

I have a sports blog at Panktics.blogspot.com. I moved from WordPress to make money off google Adsense. I recently found out google Adsense barely pays you a dollar. Im looking to make at least $200 bucks a month. I average 100 viewers a day. Everything Helps.

If you are starting a blog for primarily money rather than hobby then you might as well get a job. Most if not all of the popular blogs have been blogging for years before seeing any real money come in.

Read a book or two (or three) on Web Marketing, I can recommend ” Content Rules: How to Create Killer Blogs….that Engage Customers and Ignite Your Business”. Also if you use images in your blogs consider using Pinterest as it is a social networking site that uses images as redirections to your website.

Few people make a living solely off of internet advertising so consider blogging something similar to writing books or making art.

What are the best blog SEO and traffic tips?

I am wanting to start blogging full-time, in order to drive traffic to my website, however am stuck with how to optimize and increase my blog search traffic! What are the best SEO, traffic and exposure tips for bloggers, and are there any online companies that specialise in offering search marketing solutions to bloggers? I’m especially wanting to save time and money (in order to concentrate on my blogging and not my blog marketing!). I would appreciate any opinion or response! Cheers

blogging1 cropped Questions And Answers On Blogging With Wordpress

excel2domain answers:

I am sure everyone can earn full time from blogging. It’s just the first steps that are difficult as is the same as any other businesses.

Here are my answers for your question.

1. Use blogger platform if you want to be listed in search engines fast.
2. Blog the topic you are expert in. If you have many topics, divide them into categories. Know what is the keywords you wish to focus on.
3. Always update with a lot of relevant content. I would say update it daily. Content is the king.
4. Submit your blog to RSS directories when you have build up your content volume.
5. It is also good that you tap on the social bookmarking sites like del.icio.us, digg, furl, squidoo, stumbleupon, reddit, just to name a few. These are the latest trend in web now.
6. When you think your blog is decent enough with good content, now is the time to move out and contact other bloggers with similar topic as yours. Link building here is the key. It will shoot you up the search engines if you link properly.

I am sure there are companies doing that. Just do a search or visit some article directories for details.

Jemima Questions And Answers On Blogging Sites That Pay

Jemima asks…

Can Anybody Tell Me How I Go About Starting My Own Business On-Line?

I want to sell my handmade Childrens knitwear on the net… I need a webpage. How do I go about advertising and designing a wepage on the net. Do I have to pay? Please proper answers this is very important to me. I know there is a market for it.

blogging1 cropped Questions And Answers On Blogging Sites That Pay

excel2domain answers:

I’d start with etsy.com this is a site like ebay but for homemade items. The site is very popular so you may find that you’ll see sales. Add a blog too. The two most popular blogging formats are blogger.com and wordpress.org. With wordpress you can host the blog yourself and add your own domain name.

You could also list the items on ebay and amazon.

Selling items online through the resell sites you’ll have fees. The fees will not be too big starting out. Figure how your going to ship the items to people once they have ordered and sign up for a paypal account so you can accept payments.

What happens to most people when they start listing items or setting up blogs or websites is that they see little if any traffic and usually no sales. If this happens don’t give up or come to the conclusion the internet does not work. You must learn the process of search engine optimization and ways to generate your own traffic. There are paid methods and free methods.

Do research in the following areas to find out how to go about starting your business in such a way that it succeeds.

Google the following and search for youtube tutorials:

off page seo
how to generate website traffic
how to blog
how to set up a wordpress blog

how to use google analytics

how to generate backlinks
how to host a blog via godaddy
how does paypal work
how to list an item on etsy
what is a landing page

Daniel Questions And Answers On Blogging Sites That Pay

Daniel asks…

What are the best ways to draw traffic to your website and search engines submission?

I need to know the best sites or ways to promote my website. Search engines submission is a great way, but i do not want to pay a lot of money for something that i can do in a few key strokes.

blogging1 cropped Questions And Answers On Blogging Sites That Pay

excel2domain answers:

Hi,

Your question is excellent…

There’s a variety of different approaches you can take to increase your website traffic.

You can write articles, advertise in ezines, use eBay, do some web 2 type of promotions, get blogging, etc. You could also…

- Contact high PR sites in your niche and ask for a link or offer content in return for a link.

- List your RSS feed in RSS directories.

- Comment on blogs with high PR.

One thing to consider is how much do you value your time? Because a lot of tools and techniques you could use cost something – but end up saving you a lot of time in the long run.

Here’s an example: http://www.submitedge.com

These folks will allow you to submit your site to different directories in a few keystrokes, but they cost from $15 and up. However – think about the time you’ll save…

Another method is called 3 way links. It’s effective at getting your sites well ranked in the search engines, although it does tend to take some time to ‘kick in’ and costs under $50 a month.

It’s not precisely for targeted traffic, but it still does a great job of getting your site well ranked. (Plus it’s ‘ongoing’ link love – working while you go do other stuff).

When you think about how long it’d take to do this type of thing yourself, it’s (almost) a no brainer. icon smile Questions And Answers On Blogging Sites That Pay

Mike Questions And Answers On Blogging Sites That Pay

Mike asks…

Are there any real work at home jobs out there?

I have searched many times over, and never have found anything that doesn’t want me to pay them. Is there anything on the web that is for real?

blogging1 cropped Questions And Answers On Blogging Sites That Pay

excel2domain answers:

First of all, you should never need to pay a fee for jobs like data entry or taking surveys. Most of these types of programs are either outright scams or are misleading people regarding how much money you can realistically earn.

However, there are legitimate jobs that can be done from home while online. Here are some that I have done at one point or another since 2004. I’m still doing most of them, particularly writing articles, publishing, and affiliate marketing through my own website.

1) Freelance writing: If you have a reasonably good command of the English language, you can write articles on almost any topic and sell them to webmasters like me who are looking for relevant content to post on their websites. Some site owners and Internet marketers will even pay you to rewrite and/or proofread articles. Note that you should never be required to pay any upfront fees for this type of work. If a company tries to charge you a fee in this situation be very careful — it could be a scam and the offer may not be legitimate.

2) Affiliate marketing: You can sign up as an affiliate with networks such as Clickbank, Amazon, Commission Junction, and many others, which will allow you to make money by advertising other people’s products and keeping a percentage of any sales resulting from your referrals to the merchant’s site(s). Although some people spend money for this type of advertising, it can be done for free by posting your referral links in forum signatures (be careful not to spam the forums, however), on free blogging services such as Blogger, or as free classified ads. If you are willing to spend a small amount of money at the beginning, you can purchase our own domain name and hosting service, which will allow you to advertise your affiliate products freely on your own site.

3) Sell physical goods. If you have any sort of tangible goods that you don’t need or can make yourself without too much hassle, there are sites that will allow you to set up shop online and sell them for fun and profit. Ebay and Amazon are the most obvious choices here, but there are many other alternatives that may offer you more favorable terms.

4) Get paid to post. In addition to getting paid for writing full length articles, you can also be paid for posting smaller blocks of text such as comments on a forum or blog, short blog posts, links to websites with short snippets of text, short answers to questions, or brief reviews of products or websites. The forums at DigitalPoint.com and Amazon’s Mechanical Turk section are two good places to connect with people who will pay you for these types of services.

5) Be a virtual assistant. This is a job that has been noticeably gaining in popularity over the past few years as more webmasters are trying to expand their operations and outsource some of their more time-consuming tasks. A virtual assistant (VA) job involves a variety of administrative tasks that can be done online. Some common examples include moderating forums and blogs (proofreading comments and deleting spam), uploading and downloading files, resizing and posting images, and performing basic customer service functions through live chat or instant messaging platforms. As with freelance writing, you should never have to pay any upfront fees for this. You can look for VA jobs at the DigitalPoint forums mentioned above or at some of the larger freelance sites such as Elance.com or GetAFreelancer.com.

Jane Questions And Answers On Blogging Sites That Pay

Jane asks…

what is a good social website for bloggers or story writers?

I wish I could find a website with most of these qualities if not all of them:
1.As popular and easy to use as facebook or Twitter
2. A good place for people to read eachothers writings, fiction or real, and publish their own on the site.
3. Free. No paying for pro services or stupid stuff like that.
4.less trolls than Y!A. Just kidding…or am I?
Basically I’m looking for a place like Twitter but based around short story writing, blogging, or both. I like to write storys and have been thinking about starting a blog. Facebook and Twitter just arnt right for what i want to do.

blogging1 cropped Questions And Answers On Blogging Sites That Pay

excel2domain answers:

Jim Questions And Answers On Blogging Sites That Pay

Jim asks…

I wish I could find a website with most of these qualities if not all of them:

How can I start a community around a website?

Hello, I would like to know how can I promote my web community about sports, but I don’t know how to promote it and starting to get users and activity? Do you have some advices. I prefer free methods because I already invested a lot in the website. I don’t know if this question is against the guidelines and I hope it’s not, because I really need some of you.
Thank you!

blogging1 cropped Questions And Answers On Blogging Websites For Free

excel2domain answers:

Firstly try linking to other sites, start blogging, these are both free and will turn up when any one searches for the linked subjects. So make as many bloggs as you can. Then see if you can get a feed to live sports video or audio. It might be possible for you to get say sports news from a web site of you advertise them.

Contact as many sports companies as you can via email, invite them onto your site for free, adverts Etc, it would then be in there interest to advertise you. Ask any companies that sells sports cloths, if they would like to place an add on your site for free, then you may start getting people on your site looking for sports related clothing.

Contact as many sporting personalities as you can, asking them for any tips / jokes / stories, this will be a nice pad for your site, and would give you the opportunity to site names.

Go though the web, collect interesting data, you may become an authoritative source, people will recommend you, come back often to check who won this or how many runs they scored Etc.

Also don’t ignore the schools and collage teams, you might get people looking for the less well known teams / activities.

Hope this helps. CDR

Is there a website where you can anonymously post thoughts or experiences?

Sometimes, I feel like sharing my thoughts or experiences with an audience for comment but I want to do it with people who I do not know instead of friends. I thought of going to a chat room but people there would not want to read long stories of mine – most of them are probably there to flirt or whatever.

David Questions And Answers On Blogging Websites

David asks…

What is this religion can someone explain it ?

I was looking at blogging website and it had an article about how Tom Cruise and his family were getting death threats about there religion of Scientology I looked at a couple websites about the religion but I just can’t grasp what it really is like what they worship and what they believe in and why haven’t i really ever heard of this religion before

blogging1 cropped Questions And Answers On Blogging Websites

excel2domain answers:

Scientology is based on the book Dianetics, a psuedo-science book that claims people have problems because their brains are unconsciously restimulating traumatic events.

The “Church” of Scientology tries to suck people in with free “personality tests” or “stress tests.” When you join, you take a few “communications” courses which involve subtle hypnosis and are moderately expensive.

Things get progressively weirder and more costly from there, culminating in the top-secret “OT” or “Operating Thetan” levels, which teach that people’s problems are caused by space-alien parasites. No, I’m not making that up.

Scientology is a dangerous cult that preys upon its members’ wallets and mental health.

Promoting the blogs basically means to get traffic to your blog. There are many conventional ways which most of the SEO experts use to attract traffic to their websites and blogs. But before going on them, what I consider first to check is where your blog is lagging. What it do not have in comparison to other’s blog. You will certainly like the points raised in following post.

Questions And Answers On Funny Blog Ideas

Kylee Questions And Answers On Funny Blog Ideas

Kylee asks…

Is this a good way to advertise a new business?

My family already have a construction business, but in the next year we will be opening a new business that sell interior items such as doors, cabinets, countertops, etc. In addition to this my husband and I will be building a new home. I thought a good way to advertise both businesses is to create a blog that follows the new construction process from an empty lot to the finishing decor. What do you think, is this a good idea?

blogging1 cropped Questions And Answers On Funny Blog Ideas

excel2domain answers:

You need to consider each of these areas when putting together your advertisement or sales letter:

Leading line This attracts your targeted clients and generates interest for your main heading.
Headline This is the most powerful part of your advertisement. Spend a good deal of your time getting the headline SPOT ON.
Sub headlines Many people will skim through an advertisement or sales letter. Sub headlines grab the reader’s interest and keep them reading. If you have an ad in a newspaper that is folded in half on the newsstands it’s a good idea to put a powerful sub headline just beneath the crease to grab your readers’ attention.
The first paragraph This is the area where you either lose your reader’s interest or hold it. Hundreds of thousands of pages have been flipped over – unread -simply because of poorly thought out opening paragraphs.
Testimonials When you say it people will doubt it… But when your customers say it, it becomes believable. If you have any doubt about the power of testimonials, spend an evening watching a few late night infomercials. In many cases, advertisers have invested hundreds of thousands of dollars producing and televising these ads, which are chock full of testimonials. Testimonials give your business credibility, they prove your claims and generate TRUST – which is what sales is all about.
Benefits You need to show your prospective clients how their life will be improved by using your product or service. The most important thing I need to point out here is that features are NOT benefits. You want to explain the benefits. For example:
It will save you time.
It will go faster.
It will allow you to store more of your important documents.
Talk in benefits to your customers if you want more sales.
Offer Make your offer a powerful one. Let your prospects know why they should pick up the phone and call you now, and exactly what they will receive for doing so. Notice that I use the word ‘offer’, and not ‘offers.’ That’s because you’ll find that making one offer in an ad or sales letter, will generally get twice as many orders as if you offered a choice of two or more.
Guarantee The less risk there is in making a purchasing decision the more buyers you are likely to get. Adding a guarantee is a powerful way to generate more inquiries.
Bonuses You can never have too many bonuses if they relate and add value to your prospective customers. The key here is sourcing products that are perceived to be of a high-value, at minimal extra cost to you.
Closing the sale Advertising is salesmanship in print. And just like sales, if you fail to close the sale in your advertisements you won’t get the orders. So tell your customers precisely what immediate action they need to take, right now, in order to get your product.
Urgency Create a sense of urgency in your ads and sales letters. Why? You see, as human beings we have a tendency to put off making decisions about anything we possibly can. So you need to create a reason to take action now. A limited offer or bonuses which expire after a certain period of time are good examples.
Price and payment methods If you are trying to sell something directly within your sales letter or advertisement (sometimes you will not be trying to sell, but simply generate leads by offering something for free and then following up) then you need to give a price, together with payment information. The key here is to make it so easy for customers to pay that everyone can order.
P.S. It’s funny you know, when reading a letter, statistics have proven that many people will skip through an entire letter and then read the Post Script at the end of it. So what does this tell you? Make your P.S. As powerful as you possibly can. Restate bonuses, guarantees, offers and your greatest benefits. This can hook potential customers into reading the rest of your copy.

Many of the summer camps reply that they watch a moview on the bus or that they sing their own camp songs as most of the campers are returners.

Its hard to give you ideas for songs to sing as not all the kids will know the same songs- however a bus version Pop Idol would be funny.

Wayne Questions And Answers On Funny Blog Ideas

Wayne asks…

Is this a good way to advertise a new business?

My family already have a construction business, but in the next year we will be opening a new business that sell interior items such as doors, cabinets, countertops, etc. In addition to this my husband and I will be building a new home. I thought a good way to advertise both businesses is to create a blog that follows the new construction process from an empty lot to the finishing decor. What do you think, is this a good idea?

excel2domain answers:

This can hook potential customers into reading the rest of your copy.

excel2domain answers:

Something funny, it can be about almost anything as long as it’s got a lot of good witty humor. I don’t want to put you down because I don’t know how funny you are, but most blogs just end up coming off as desperate for attention and silly. Maybe you’ll be the exception to the rule. Good luck.

Also, I don’t think this belongs in the Singles & Dating section, unless you were looking to make your blog about relationships.

Bob Questions And Answers On Funny Blog Ideas

Bob asks…

Can you give me some cheers to sing on a school bus for the kids going to summer camp?

I’m a camp counselor and a bus captain for the school bus that takes the kids (ages on the bus range from like 5-13) and I am responsible for providing fun on the bus for the kids on their ride to the camp every week.
I need some fun, catchy cheers that we can sing on the bus together and possibly some other activities we can do on the bus so that everyone is having a fun time during the bus ride. Thanks!

excel2domain answers:

You have a real challenge ahead of you! I hope your bus jounery is not too long.
We get have asked many of the camps we work with- what they do to try and seek their help and advice so we can pass it on to others.

Many of the summer camps reply that they watch a moview on the bus or that they sing their own camp songs as most of the campers are returners.

Its hard to give you ideas for songs to sing as not all the kids will know the same songs- however a bus version Pop Idol would be funny.

However if you are interested in playing games on the bus rides at summer camp then I found a great article with games to play- check out http://bit.ly/df8PsV

I will also be using this as a source for one of our blog posts http://www.summercampsuccess.com
